Michael G. Gabridge is an experienced biologist who brings a unique perspective to fine art nature photography. His close-ups and macro views represent a distinctive blend of scientific detail and artistic interpretation. His graphics tend to be less of a snapshot ("moment in time") and more of a creative composition focusing on line, shape and color.

Prior to working full-time in photography, Dr. Gabridge was a microbiology professor, researcher, inventor, entrepreneur, and academic administrator. Most of his career efforts were done in "technology transfer", where he managed inventions and patents, and in some cases helped start up new biotechnology companies, for the University of Colorado and the Medical College of Georgia.

His stock and free-lance photographs appeared in over 100 textbooks, company brochures, annual reports, and even Boston's Museum of Science. In his more than 40 years of serious photography, Mike has been in numerous juried art exhibitions and earned awards at regional and national art shows. His scientific and fine art photographic works have been displayed in numerous commercial and private galleries around the country. He has two self-published photography books: "Awesome Aspens" (2009), and "Nature is a Work of Art" (2010).

Much of his work is available in a new format called "Cubic Collages" useful for desktop and tabletop displays (and/or bookends).  Go to www.ETSY.com and enter CubicCollages in the search window (all one word, and plural).  That is the name of his new workshop.
